The main referee made a huge mistake, but the truth is that he had an impossible angle to actually see if the ball touched the block.
It was more a mistake of the linesman, who had to signalize that the ball was not even close of touching the block.

I remember worst call. Poland played against Brazil in World League 2009. Spiker of Brasilian NT( i think that was Rivaldo) spiked ball out of bounds, away from block about half a meter, but refree said that ball was block-out.
If you looked at the second referee’s gestures and movement you would notice that it’s him that signaled a ‘touch’. The line judge actually called the ball ‘out’
