After 136 minutes of play, they were defeated by Saugella Team Monza 3-2 (25-23, 25-27, 21-25, 27-25, 16-14) although they had many chances for a win. Serena Ortolani scored 28 points and Edina Begic 18 points for the winning team, while 24 points of Celeste Plak and 21 points of Paola Egonu were not enough for the win of Novara.
On the other side, Imoco Volley won the derby against Savino Del Benne Scandicci while Il Bisonte outplayed Liu Jo Nordmeccanica Modena.
Imocofinished the away match 3-1 (24-26, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23) and now have 24 points and jumped on the leading position.
Kimberly Hill scored 21 points for the winning team followed by Samanta Bricio 19 points while Isabelle Haak finished the match with 29 points.
Il Bisonte also celebrated victory after four sets (25-21, 25-12, 25-19, 25-17). Indre Sorokaite scored 16 points followed by Valentina Tirozzi and Daly Santana who scored 15 points each. On the other side, Katarina Barun Susnjar scored 17 points
UYBA finished their match without surprises, they defeated Volley Pesaro3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 26-24). Valentina Diouf was the top scorer of the match with 16 points.
After two hours and a half, Volley Legnano defeated Pomi Casalmaggiore 3-2 (18-25, 25-18, 15-25, 25-23, 23-21). The result in the fifth set shows how much the teams wanted this victory, but at the end, the home team celebrated their third win of the season. Teams made 21 blocks (10 Legnano-10 Pomi) during the whole match. Camilla Mingardi scored 26 points for Legnano and Anastasia Guerra 22 for Pomi.
The day before, Foppapedreti Bergamo scored the second win of the season 2017/2018. In the 9th round, they defeated Lardini Filottrao 3-1 (24-26, 25-22, 25-19, 25-20).
