In a match of up and downs, Iran overcame their 36 errors to 24 of Finland to get two points with the 3-2 win.
Mohammad Javad was the main offensive weapon of the winning side with 23 points followed by Akbar Valaei’s 19 points and 16 and 13 from Javad Hekmati and Shaland Allah respectively.
Finland’s most productive players were Samuli Kaislasalo and Sakarin Makinen who each finished with 13 points.
Iran totaled 15 blocks, including a match-high 5 from Allah and four executed by Hamid Hammoodi, while Finland had ten. Valaei served five aces for the winners.
