China became the world champion after they beat USA in straight sets. While Brazil won the third place in this tournament at the Girls’ U18 World Championships in Thailand.

Dong Ruijun, head coach of China:

 “We played very well. Everybody in our team had the good performance in this match. We accomplished it in a good way. This is the best in this tournament for my team, I think we now achieved our target .Congratulation for our team with the gold medal today. Finally, we wish that we could gain great experiences from this tournament for the future of these youngsters

Sun Haiping, team captain of China:

 “I am very happy today that we are the winners. This is because we played our highest performance in the competition with good skills and had a good passion.  We can control the entire game. I’m happy that we won this match. Because the match important for all our team and for our future player in the next tournament congratulation for our team

James Stone II, coach of USA:

China was certainly the better team today. Our goal was to get a medal and today we made it silver, so that made me very happy and very proud of my team. Also this tournament was conducted beautifully, very well organized, good facilities, so we are very happy to be here.”

Taylor Tashima, USA Captain:

We had never thought that we could come this far. We just kept practicing while we were in training sessions and when we played we managed to win each game . In the game against China , it was a hard-fought match between us. We played very hard and very well in the first two sets, but in the third set, we were pretty nervous and we didn’t concentrate on the game, so we were defeated. Congratulations to China.”
