Hyundai Skywalkers had to enter the volleyball market again and try to find a new player.
They had to change injured Ronald Jimenez, who joined the team in September after leaving the Polish team.
A new reinforcement is coming from Qatar’s league. It’s Felipe Bandero, the Brazilian opposite who already has experience playing in Korea where he was a member of several teams from the 2017/2018 season to 2020/21.
Hyundai Capital picked Vojdar Beušević from Serbia as the 6th overall in the foreign player’s tryout held ahead of the 2021-22 season.
However, Beusevic had to leave Korea without playing a single V-League game due to his unfaithful attitude and injuries during the training process.
Jimenez, who entered the country at the end of September instead of Beusevic, was also unable to show his skills due to an injury during training.
Jimenez recovered faster than expected and made his V-League debut against Samsung Bluefangs on November 5th, but has been playing with some injury problems ever since. Therefore, the club’s management decided to change him for Bandero for the rest of the season. In the game played on December 22, Jimenez led Cheonan Hyundai Capital Skywalkers to a 3-0 victory over Samsung Bluefangs with 19 points. Jimenez is expected to stay in the team and play until Bandero arrives.
