Niverka Marte, the setter of the Dominican Republic National Team for several seasons, will continue playing in Indonesia. Furthermore, the 32-year-old player will stay in the nation’s capital, Jakarta. Namely, Marte left Jakarta Pertamina Fastron for Jakarta Popsivo polwan, the three-time champions of the Indonesian Proliga.

Even though the “Las Reinas del Caribe“ member is considered one of the best players in her position in the NORCECA region, she has never been in the spotlight of big teams from Europe or South America. In recent years, in addition to playing in her home country’s league, the MVP of the last Pan American Cup and Best Setter of the 2015 NORCECA Championship can brag of wearing the jersey of only one club that has any international reputation at all – France’s Le Cannet. But that was before the club merged with Volero and became a title contender in Ligue A.
