The result is Finland’s first win of the 2014 season, and is a reversal of the previous night’s result when Australia won their first ever World League match, also in five sets.

Finland’s captain Antti Siltala led his team well, scoring 15 points and he was ably assisted by Mikko Olivanen and Jukka Lehtonen who both scored 13 points for the visitors.

For Australia, Thomas Edgar scored 19 points, while Nathan Roberts and Aidan Zingel both kept the hosts involved throughout the evening.
