The ten-day contest, which will be held from June 1 to 10, will see the winners qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The top-ranked Asian team will also earn a berth for the Games as the tournament doubles as the AVC qualification tournament.
The two teams will join hosts Great Britain, 2011 FIVB Men’s World Cup medallists Russia, Poland and Brazil, CAVB Continental Olympic Qualification winners Tunisia, CEV Continental Olympic Qualification winners Italy, NORCECA Continental Olympic Qualification winners USA and CSV Continental Olympic Qualification winners Argentina.
The remaining two berths will be filled by the winners of the other two Men’s World Olympic Qualification Tournaments, taking place in Berlin, Germany and Sofia, Bulgaria from June 8 to 10 respectively.
Competing in Germany alongside the hosts will be Cuba, Czech Republic and India while Bulgaria will welcome Egypt, France and Pakistan.
