The Italian led men’s Venezuelan team at previous World Championship to the sixth place, but now the goal is even more prestigious – 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The road of Venezuela to the Olympics, however, is still long. So, the Volleyball Federation of Venezuela demonstrates an interest and commitment to this goal and renewed contract with Nacci. It also took organization of one of the qualification tournaments, in Caracas (January 2016). Firstly, there are two intermediate steps. World Cup in Brazil (mid-May 2015), then the World League (in June 2015).
There are two places available for Rio from South and Central America, in addition to Brazil. Likely, one will be Argentina, and for the other, Venezuela will fight with Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic.
