China swept away South Korea in straight sets in the final match of the 2015 Asian Championship in Tianjin (China) – 25-21, 25-21, 25-21.
Thus, China regained the continental title after 4 years (13th overall) while South Korea lost in the final game second time in a row.
It was the duel of the two best players on the tournament and probably in Asia as well – Korean Kim Yeon-Keung and Chinese Zhu Ting who was announced as MVP of the tournament.
Chinese head coach Lang Ping said after the match:
“I hope that the players completed their dreams. It doesn’t matter what problem we have, we can overcome them in the field. We’ve been preparing for this for so long and we have confidence…The players are making progress day by day.”
About the final game, she said:
“The start wasn’t smooth, South Korea caused us a lot of trouble in service , but fortunately the players played quite firmly.”
Thailand secured its spot at the Asian Qualifier for the 2016 Rio Olympics after it beat Chinese Taipei in the match for the 3rd place, also in straight sets – 25-14, 25-14, 25-10.
