The race for the World League Final-Six heats up in the Pool B! Iran outplayed Poland after a tie-break 3-2 (25:21, 223:25, 21:25, 25:16, 15:11)!

Hall in Tehran

Hall in Tehran

Crazy game in Tehran! Iran was on a four-win streak before the big clash against Poland, and the home fans filled the Hall to the very last seat. They made so much noise that at one point two main referees could not understand each other! But, first thing first – Iran has beaten Poland after a tie-break and remained in the race for the World League Final-Six!

The peak of this fantastic clash was the tie-break. Iran was in the lead almost throughout the whole set, but when the home team scored for 11:9, some strange things started to occur on the court… Stephane Antiga, head coach of Poland, started arguing with the second referee as he thought that the point should have gone to Poland.

They talked for more than a minute, while then the second referee went to have a word with the main one in the chair… But the home fans made so much noise so that conversation was almost impossible! The second referee then once again went to talk with Antiga, then with the game commissioner…

This delay obviously made home players very nervous so Saeid Marouf literally approached to the second referee and told him several times to get back to his place so that the game could continue!!!

When it finally happened, Iran won the next two points for 13:9, and then Mojtaba Mirzajanpour scored two more for 15:11 and for big win of Iran!

Pool B: USA 7-2 (20 points), Poland 6-3 (17 points), Iran 5-4 (15 points), Russia 0-9 (2 points).

Parody. Where are the red cards for players of Iran? The Iranians are doing what they want with the referees. Again and again. 5 set was a special show of boorishness by Iranian players. And no reaction from the referees. It’s a shame that volleyball matches at the highest level take place in that country. Embarrassing level of refereeing. Greets to Poland. You at least know how to behave culturally.

Hey man. We have played with many national teams not only in Tehran, but also in many other countries. Poland is the only team that we’ve had trouble with it for both games in Poland and tonight game. However, I don’t want to answer like you, because I’ve learnt to respect to everyone. Match is Match. We are not Racist. You can see the below link to find what USA COACH JOHN SPERAW told about Iran and Iranian people.’Speraw on Iran and his message to Americans: ‘My first impression was that everyone here has been incredibly hospitable. Everyone has been very nice. They have gone out of their way to make sure that we had really nice experience here. I think we have enjoyed it tremendously.’

Is this the meaning of culture in your country? Does your culture let you to talk in this way? To act against a country just for losing a game…
If it is, congratulation to you and your country… :))

Thanks, USA, for exhibiting the class of a true champion. To the Poles commenting here, your childish comments only tarnish Poland’s image. Your great country deserves better.

@MONZA:
I know you are a fan of your team and you wanna be in top 6 but please not be a biased person!
Do you see what was done by your coach in the last set??!
Your coach made a huge cessation in the game whenever Gholami had a great performance by his serves!
Your coach bought time with an unfairly behavior
Keep calm and think again about the game!!

The referees weren’t experienced enough to control the game. They made the players nervous. fivb knows refereeing is much more difficult in Iran’s crowded stadiums compared to other countries. Why didn’t it appoint better referees?

@MONZA Polish players hit the ball out of the bound and you say ‘ It’s a shame that volleyball matches at the highest level take place in that country.’ you are disrespecting a country for a volleyball match, Iran don’t choose the refrees but FIVB, and Iranian players fight for their team , in all the matches in Poland,Polish players celebrated every points by ridiculing iranian players (especially Kubiak, and Kurek) and let me remind you the second match of the week two .i do also believe that those referees for this important match were not suitable but the way you talk, That’s the mood of a loser.

@MONZA: It’s a shame you open your mouth and talk about a great and civilized country like iran.
Pathetic looser!

Referee was too weak and made Iranian players more nervous , It was needed a red card or at least yellow card to Antiga who took time for 10 minutes by himself .

It’s shame for a person who don’t have enough information ( Monza ) to talks about which country should or shouldn’t held World League matches in it .

and here is Poland coach Stephane Antiga’s opinion about the fans ‘It is unbelievable here. We could not even communicate with each other and it is nice for volleyball.’
