Is this Iran that everybody expected to see at the FIVB World Cup 2015? Boys led by Slobodan Kovač ran over Venezuela in straight sets - 3-0 (25:20, 25:17, 25:15).

Players of Iran have received a lot of critics during the first two days at the FIVB World Cup 2015, even from their head coach. But, it seems that all of them had good impact on the team. Iran did not leave a single chance to Venezuela…

It was all over in just three sets, but the key was the first one. Iran was constantly in lead and even had +4 in some moments (17:13), still Venezuela managed to narrow the gap to 20:19. Slobodan Kovač asked for a time-out and made some very interesting move – He replaced team star Saeid Marouf with Mehdi Mahdavi and it worked! Iran scored next two points to escape to 22:19 (one of them came after a great “drop” by Mahdavi!” and closed the set – 25:20.

The rest of the game was completely one-sided. Iran played amazing, while this was not that Venezuela we saw a day before against Argentina. You can see the outcome.
