Maaseik vs. Roeselare
Knack Roeselare proved to be too strong at the moment for their great rivals Noliko Maaseik and beat them as visitors 3-1 (25-18, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22).
Since the very beginning of the match it became clear that home side will have difficult times. Roeselare ran quickly into Set 1, 8-3. After 16-11 it was 25-18.
In the second set, Maaseik provided more substantial resistance but lost it as well 25-23.
Many fans in “Lotto Dôme” probably thought it was all over, but in Set 3, Maaseik showed their teeth. Through 8-4 and 16-10 they took it 25-20.
Both teams kept each other in balance for most of the fourth set, but Roeselare ended Belgian ‘classic’ with raised hands 25-22 and remained at top of standings with 5-0 record.
Hendrik Tuerlinckx was the best scorer in Roeselare with 22 points while Dutch Jelte Maan had 25 in Maaseik.
