Tabriz vs. Kalleh
In front of 700 spectators in the “Tehran House of Volleyball” Sarmayeh beat the team who caused them last defeat so far in the national championship and took over leadership in the standings in front of Shahrdari Urmia VC.
Title holders Paykan Tehran hardly beat Saipa Alborz VC and climbed to the third place of the table 3-2 (31-33, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 17-15).
“It was a beautiful, pleasant and technical game from both sides. I risked a lot by sending younger players to the field. It was probable why our opponents were in the game, but my risk brought positive answer and we took the win. Congratulations to Saipa team for performing a fantastic play,” Peyman Akbari, head coach of Paykan, said.
Kalleh Sports Club caused upset and defeated home team of Shahrdari Tabriz in a thriller 3-2 (19-25, 25-23, 28-26, 18-25, 15-18). The coach of Tabriz, Behrooz Ataei and player Hamzeh Zarini received red card and were dismissed from the game.
