“Our young players are learning quickly; they are good and talented and they deserve to show their quality to Finland’s Volleyball fans. I think the next couple of weeks will bring us a lot of fun” he adds.
After the first round robin taking place in Salo, the final standings of the group will be determined next week in Baku. With Azerbaijan being the clear-cut favorite to finish first in the Pool, Belarus, Finland, and Austria will be battling for the second place to make it to the third and last qualification round coming up in May 2013. The second-ranked will eventually cross ways with the runner-up of Pool A that comprises Slovakia, Sweden, Israel and Spain.
Two years ago Finland missed out on a spot for the final round of the European Championship by losing to France in the third and last qualifying round.
