They all left a huge mark in volleyball history. However, these clubs are not active anymore. Do you remember them?

Soviet Championship (33): 1949, 1950, 1952~1955, 1958, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1970~1983, 1985~1991.

Soviet Cup (5): 1953, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1985.

Russian Championship (3): 1994, 1995, 1996.

Russian Cup (1): 1994.

Story: CSKA might be the most successful volleyball club in history of this sport. The Russian powerhouse is the club with the most Champions League titles (13) and it is a big question if some volleyball team will ever beat this record, as the second place is currently shared between Modena, Zenit and Sisley, which all have 4 titles each…

CSKA have been dominating the Soviet championship (33 titles), however, the club was shut down in 2009.

Italian Cup (5): 1992-93, 1999-00, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2006-07.

Italian Supercup (7): 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007.

CEV Champions League (4): 1994-95, 1998-99, 1999-00, 2005-06.

CEV Cup (2): 1993-94, 2010-11.

Challenge Cup (4): 1990-91, 1992-93, 1997-98, 2002-03.

European Supercup (2): 1994, 1999.

Story: There is not a single volleyball fan who dod not hear stories about mighty Sisley Treviso. This Italian giant dominated the volleyball world during the 90s, winning trophies almost every single year! Sisley share the second place in the CEV Champions League Winners list, while they managed to win all 3 CEV club trophies!

Also, this team have plenty of domestic trophies in their cupboard…

Eczacibasi (Turkey)

Founded: 1967.

Ceased to exist: 1996.

Honours:

Turkish Championship (12): 1976, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1990, 1991.

Turkish Cup (3): 1990, 1991, 1995.

Story: Do you know which team won the most championship titles in Turkey. No, it is not Galatasaray, nor Besiktas, nor Fenerbahce, not HalkBank… It is Eczacibasi! Younger volleyball fans know this team only by its women’s section which is currently one of the best in the world, however in the past Ecacibasi were well known by their men’s team.

The Orange crew won 12 championship titles in Turkey (record), while they also participated twice at the CEV Champions League Final Four.
