AC M: Japan defeated Thailand in straight sets

In the second day of the 16th Asian Junior Men’s volleyball Championship in Pool B Japan played against Thailand while Sri Lanka played against Afghanistan.

In Pool B, Japan defeated Thailand in straight sets (25-22,25-18,15-18) to improve their win and loss record to 2-0. The winning side was led by their top scorer Imamura Takahiko with 13 points and Fujinaka Kenya added 10 points, while Chanchai Kitsada tallied 10 points for Thailand. Japan produced a 4-0 ace advantage and a 10-2 block advantage in the victory.

Sako Noriaki, head coach of Japan, said “my players made a lot of mistake in yesterday’s play against Sri Lanka that this became less in the play against Thailand.”

Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan in straight sets for their first victory in the tournament, Afghanistan were weak and easily defeated 25-13, 25-19 ,25-17.
