In the first match of the day, India overcame a slow start to defeat Korea in four sets (19-25, 25-13, 25-22, 30-28).
Song Myung-Geun sparked Korea with a match-high 25 points, Hwang Du-Yeon and Na Gyeong-Bok added 13 points each. However India’s block provided a 14-4 difference over Korea and a 5-1 advantage in serving to go along with a small 57-53 margin in attacks.
Indian Amandeep Kumar led other two players scoring in double digits with 20 points. Suresh khoiwal and Lavmeet Katariya charted 16 and 15 points respectively.
