“I am not afraid of this challenge, and my dream is to win the medal on next World Championship with Poland” – said Stephane Antiga on the beginning of the interview for Journal of Lodz.

Public in Poland are eager to find out what changes will make their new head coach of national team:

On the basis of my experience as a player I know that you have to be properly motivated to play for the national team. And certainly such players I will choose to represent Poland. You ask me if Wlazłego will play in the national team? I’d love to, but it is still too early. Surely I will talk with all players that I want to include into national team and then make a final choice.”

Antiga continued:

Poland has a very good team and I can actually say that there is a wide selection of players for the squad. Surely this new team will not experience a revolution. I will have to do a thorough analysis of what is failing. I think the potential of this country is very large.”

Frenchman has big advantage because he speaks Polish:

I will try to use Polish much as I can, because I know that it will be most convenient for the team. I play six years in Poland, so I well learned language of volleyball and I will not have a problem with that. But I know that there will be moments which I want to explain something in more details and then I will use English or Italian. But it depends on the player, with whom I want to talk to.”

Antiga concluded this conversation in optimistic manner:

Working with the Polish national team will surely be a wonderful and exciting. I hope that we qualify from the World Championship to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Then I will have the opportunity to achieve with this team something that it deserves.”
