Poland head coach Stephane Antiha has decided to cut Marcin Mozdzonek from the 12-player roster that will play at the upcoming Olympic Games. It was a decision that definitely hurt the feelings of the experienced middle blocker…

In a column written for przegladsportowy.pl, Mozdzonek stated that it was very hard for him to accept the coach’s decision, but that he wish his teammates all the best in Rio.

“I am not going to Rio. What do I feel? Sadness and grief. I am very sorry because this is the first time in my career that I am facing such a situation. Although I gave everything to help the team the best I could, I did not find favor in the eyes of the coach. For a long time I sensed that Antiga will make such a decision. I knew that one middle blocker had to be dropped out from the roster. The problem is that I am no longer a youngster who is just entering the national team, so from my persective the decision is unfair. But, I have to accept it. Life goes on and the best remedy is to get back to work. So soon I will start preparing for the new season. I will keep my fingers crossed for the guys. I know that they will give everything they have to win the medal at the Olympics.”
