Five-time consecutive titleholders Zenit Kazan scored their first win in the 2018/19 Superliga playoff finals to halve Kuzbass Kemerovo’s series lead to a 2-1.

After suffering two defeats at home, Zenit had to emerge victorious from Game 3, on the road, in order to keep their chances to defend the title alive. On the other hand, Kuzbass missed their first title “match point” but will have another opportunity to win the championship already tomorrow, in front of own crowd again.

Game 3 ended in straight sets, partially 25-20, 25-21, 25-19, in the favor of Zenit for which Maksim Mikhaylov top-scored with 16 points. Viktor Poletaev noted 14 points for Kuzbass.

(2) Kuzbass Kemerovo – (1) Zenit Kazan 0-3 (20-25, 21-25, 19-25), series 2-1

Positive- I appreciate the we can watch in Europe the Russian league on Laola.at. Sadly, TV coverage of this final match with top world players was pretty poor, cheap.. Compare with a match from a small Latvia, vs Estonia 2018, which I take as the best TV coverage in last year I had seen. See https://www.laola1.tv/en-at/video/2018-08-19-latvia-spain-fm-len
In Latvia there was excellent editing of this match- they replayed almost after every rally – back, front views, super slow motion. To see this match was pleasure. This TV was very professional, transparent, showed a dynamic of this sport.
Little better as from Kemerovo have been TV coverage we can see from USA NCAA – on YT, but not as good as from Latvia. However in USA they have used the better recognizable ball, but not ideal.. Both these preconditions (TV coverage, and the perfect visible ball) should be present to attract the more TV viewers and resources…
