Startseva, who parted ways with her club Dinamo in early May, acknowledged that the news might evoke mixed reactions among fans. Despite speculations of a potential return similar to other players, Startseva emphasized, “As of now, I am officially retiring. The chances of my return are very slim, less than 1%.”

The 35-year-old setter has won the World Championship in 2010, the European Championship in 2015, and has secured five gold medals in the Russian Championships in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2020, and 2023.
