Russia lost against Croatia in straight sets, but that result did not affect the final standings. Still, head coach Yuri Marichev stated that he can’t be satisfied with the way his team finished the first stage.
“It’s hard to say something after this match. We knew that it has no value for us, because we had secured the place in quarterfinals before that. Nevertheless, I am still upset with the defeat. The team played without concentration” said Marichev for Russian media.
