As Russian head coach Vladimir Alekno didn’t give statements since the end of the match against Italy, some other did. Among those was the President of the Russian Volleyball Federation, Stanislav Shevchenko.
„Of course, we are not satisfied with such an outcome. It’s not even the result, but the play against Italy. Throughout the tournament the team looked good and yesterday, all our players have played below their level. It was only in one particular game, but none played the way they can,“ he said.
„The coaching council will take place in ten days. They will analyze the tournament,“ Shevchenko added.
