“We have no fears for the tournament there since the Turkish side provided all the necessary guarantees unlike before. Today we have them all, so I think everything will be all right. The national team should not be afraid of anything,” the President of the Russia’s VF, Stanislav Shevchenko, said.
Tournament in Ankara will be held on January 4-9, despite the fact that the Russians asked the CEV to move it to some other country due to security reasons.
It was all a consequence of political tensions between Russia and Turkey because of a shot down of Russia’s plane on Turkish-Syrian border in November.
