After the premature death of head coach Sergey Ovchinnikov, Dinamo started searching for a mentor, contacted Volero to sign Ilic and this move was eventually accepted by the Swiss club.

“We fully support Svetlana and we feel honored that our coach is about to move to improve her skills via such a unique opportunity” says club President Stav Jacobi. “This confirms the solid reputation of Volero and the quality of our work”.

Ilic left Zurich already today and there in Moscow will be working with some of the world’s finest Volleyball players. She is evidently looking forward to this challenge. “It’s just amazing to be drafted by Dinamo MOSCOW. I am about to start a new chapter of my life and look forward to this experience. Still it is not easy for me to leave Volero right before the start of the Swiss national league”.

This move will not influence the position of Ilic as head coach of the Swiss national team that will start their preparations for the home European Championship in May 2013. The Champs will be jointly organized by Germany and Switzerland with Zurich being one of the host cities.
