Team captain Jelena Nikolić is in better form than this summer, and she is ready to lead her team in Azerbaijan:
“Our primary goal is to qualify for the World Championship and it is known that only the first in the Pool advances. We have to be careful, despite everybody say that we have an easy group. Beat Azerbaijan in Azerbaijan is never easy, so we need to aproach this tournament very seriously. I believe that all girls came in great form, we know each other so long and I think that it will not be a problem. We just need to have respect for Azerbaijan.” – said captain of Serbian team.
In the last three seasons Nataša Krsmanović is playing in Rabita Baku from Azerbaijan. She knows the opponent very well:
“Their big plus is home advantage and for sure it will be difficult for everybody, even us. They are not naive, in their team they have some good players, Aliyev who played very well lately, also Mammadova. I only do not know will Parkhomenko be part of the team. If we get too relaxed, they for sure can beat us. I really do not know how Estonia and Israel play, but in my opinion, we will defeat all three opponents and this will be one of the easiest tournament for us.” adds experienced middle blocker.
In the first round of the WCH qualifiers Serbia will face Estonia…There are two more NT along with Serbia and Estonia, Azerbaijan and Israel.
