It was either Nilüfer Bld. or Türk Hava Yolları (THY) that had a chance of taking the only vacancy in the charts of the 2020/21 Turkish Women’s Misli.com Sultanlar Ligi regular season for playoffs.
Three out of 4 playoff spots were sealed earlier but, after today’s match in which THY swept Karayollari by a 3-0 (25-7, 25-22, 25-10) in a delayed match of Round 29, that 4th spot is taken as well. THY gained 22 wins in 29 games, increased their score in the charts to 63 points, and mathematically ensured no.4 (the last position in the regular season that guarantees playoff participation).
Ebrar Karakurt top-scored the Istanbul side with 22 points, including 5 aces. Aslı Kalaç set up as many as 7 blocks, while Berin Yıldırım and Şeyma Ercan made 93 % reception apiece, 73 % and 79 % perfect reception respectively. Thus, THY qualified to the playoff stage for the first time in the history of the club.
