Universidad San Martín de Porres, a three-time Peruvian Women’s volleyball champions in a row, became leaders in the standings of Liga Nacional Superior de Voleibol (LNSV) Copa Movistar after beating Club Alianza Lima 3-1 (25-18, 25-12, 27-29, 25-20), three days ago.

San Martín lost this one set on a highly controversial way that raised a lot of commotion in Peru. It seemed that their receiver, Brazilian Milca da Silva, made a successful attack as the ball deflected from Alianza’s block out of bounds. It occurred on a set ball (26-25) for San Martín. A referee clearly showed it was a point for Peruvian title holders.

The players of San Martín started to celebrate victory but, to their great surprise, the umpire suddenly changed his initial call and showed the ball has touched Milca in the head on it’s way down.

What do you think, was this a debatable call?
