Trentino vs. Fenerbahce
Trentino left semifinal series of Serie A1 against Sir Safety Perugia aside and successfully focused on 1st leg of the CEV Cup against the team that aspires to win the title in another strong European championship, Turkish league.
The victory over ’Fener’ was even more precious since it was achieved without starting receiver Oleg Antonov, who was sidelined due to thigh injury. Filippo Lanza scored 16 points for the winners. The re-match is scheduled for April 1 in Istanbul.
In the other semifinal, French Tours easily downed United Volleys Rheinmain from Germany 3-0 at home with 17 points from Czech opposite David Konečný.
Galatasaray vs. Dinamo Kazan
As for Women’s semifinals, both games ended in straight sets as well.
Turkish Galatasaray İstanbul defeated visitors Dinamo Kazan from Russia 25-23, 27-25, 25-16 thanks to 15 points from Italian Nadia Centoni, while Unet Yamamay Busto Arsizio shocked home team of Pomì Casalmaggiore, helped by 17 points from Valentina Diouf.
