Cuneo, Italy, January 13, 2012. Italy’s Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO qualified this past Wednesday for the Playoffs 12 of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League by scoring a splendid away win in the Czech Republic against Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE thereby making sure it will finish atop of the standings in Pool D.

Waiting for the Drawing of Lots that will determine the draw for the Playoffs, CUNEO plays host next Wednesday to Generali UNTERHACHING of Germany for the last round of the prelims.

After losing 2:3 to Stade Poitevin POITIERS, Generali needs a win to stay in contention for the Playoffs 12 and hence the game shall be quite interesting.

Their head coach Mihai Paduretu says: “Our chances to continue the journey in the Champions League are very limited but you never know”.

If they lose to CUNEO and on the other side POITIERS defeats Jihostroj, Generali may be moved to the Challenge Round of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Cup depending on the results of the other matches.

Having a very busy schedule to cope with – including national league, national cup and Champions League – Bre Banca Lannutti does not want to lose its rhythm and wants to repeat the 3:1 win scored this past October in Bavaria.
