VINTAGE VOLLEYBALL: Dutch exhibition – No-jump set by Blangé and „strange“ pipe by Zwerver (VIDEO)

The 1988 Seoul Olympics was a tournament where legendary generation of the Dutch Men’s Volleyball National Team, that took gold medal in Atlanta eight years later, came into the light.

That generation of the Dutch Men’s Volleyball NT who delighted the nation by winning gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games had several stars in the team but their attack was mostly based on the connection between setter Peter Blangé and outside hitter Ronald Zwerver.

In the 1988 Seoul Olympics, in the match against Japan, these two performed an attack that can be called a „quick attack-pipe“. Blangé spiced it up with a no-jump set.
