In a championship Grand Final, Penn State defeated Louisville 3-1 (25-23, 32-34, 25-20, 25-17) to secure its eighth NCAA Division I volleyball title. Jess Mruzik starred for the Penn State, delivering a match-high 29 points and earning the Most Outstanding Player award.
For the first time, the final featured two female head coaches. Katie Schumacher-Cawley, leading Penn State, became the first woman to coach a team to an NCAA volleyball championship.
The match also captivated fans, with a record-setting crowd of 21,860 packing the arena in Louisville.
