The volleyball market in Qatar is buzzing this year, with the prestigious Emir Cup underway and top teams bolstering their rosters. Al Arabi SC swiftly secured their third opposite player this season by signing Wassim Ben Tara. Wassim Ben Tara arrives from Sir Susa Vim Perugia after his victorious campaign in the Italian SuperLega Credem Banca.
Earlier this season, Al Arabi had Brazilian Gabriel Cândido, who was briefly replaced by Enock Mogeni for the West Asian Club Championship, before Cândido returned to the lineup. Ahead of the Qatar Cup, Hungarian Krisztián Pádár was signed to the same position, with Ben Tara now coming on board as the latest addition for the Emir Cup.
Meanwhile, José Miguel Gutiérrez had to rejoin the Cuban national team, leading to Aleksei Spiridonov’s return to the roster in the first round. Whether Al Arabi will recruit additional players remains to be seen. At Al Rayyan SC, things are quiet for now, but it’s expected they’ll also be active in the market.
