After 7 years, Saint-Nazaire have returned to Ligue A Masculine. The champions of the French 2nd division (Ligue B Masculine) last season then decided to entrust the command of the team in 2022/23 to the Brazilian expert Roberley Luiz Leonaldo, more known as Rubinho.

The 53-year-old expert was a faithful assistant to legendary Bernardo Rezende with the Brazil Men’s National Team from 2006 to 2016 (during which time it became the Olympic and world champion twice each) and the France Men’s National Team in 2021. When Rezende resigned from the post in ’Seleção’, Rubinho set off his career as the first coach, initially with the Brazil U23 National Team and then with the men’s and women’s teams of Sesi (Sesi-SP and Sesi Vôlei Bauru, respectively).

In Saint-Nazaire, Rubinho replaced a long-time coach Gilles Gosselin.
