Poland filled with confidence ahead of World Championship – Wagner Memorial won by hosts

With three straight-set wins in as many games, the men’s volleyball national team of Poland triumphed in, probably, the strongest preparatory tournament in the world, the Wagner Memorial.

The Poland National Team won the 19th edition of the Jerzy Hubert Wagner Memorial. In three matches of the tournament, they didn’t lose a single set (3-0 Iran, 3-0 Argentina, 3-0 Serbia). Argentina was second, Iran was third, and Serbia was fourth.

In the last match of the test tournament before the 2022 FIVB World Championship, played at the Tauron Arena in Kraków, the hosts prevailed over Serbia 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-22), with 13 points from Bartosz Kwolek.

Day 1

Argentina – Serbia  3-1  (25-21, 19-25, 25-22, 25-18)

Poland – Iran  3-0  (25-19, 29-27, 25-17)

Day 2

Iran – Serbia  2-3  (21-25, 25-20, 20-25, 26-24, 10-15)

Poland – Argentina  3: 0  (25-22, 25-22, 25-18)

Day 3

Argentina – Iran  2-3  (21-25, 25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 13-15)

Poland – Serbia 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-22)
