The CNOSF (National Olympic Committee of France) conciliation commission has proposed that Narbonne, demoted for financial reasons by the supervisory bodies of the national league and the federation, remain in Ligue A and compete next season. The national federation (FFVolley) should ratify it on Monday.

Narbonne’s right to play the French Championship was reinstated after hearing the last CEV Challenge Cup winners’ club representatives had in front of the CNOSF conciliation commission. The body responsible for France’s participation in the Olympic Games considered that the new elements brought by Narbonne were likely to ensure their place in the top division.

Recall that semi-finalist of the 2021-22 Ligue A playoffs had been demoted to the amateur division for the first time at the end of June by the Commission for the aid and control of professional clubs in the National League, following the opinion of the DNACG (Aid and Management Control Department of pro clubs in French sports), due to an excessive financial deficit. The sanction was confirmed by the FFVolley’s appeal committee in mid-July. That’s what prompted Narbonne to call for conciliation with the CNOSF.
