One semifinal of the 2020 Italian women’s volleyball Super Cup was held, the other was suspended and rescheduled…

In the first semifinal of the 2020 Supercoppa Italiana Final Four, played outdoors in a special setting at the Vicenza city square Piazza dei Signori, Imoco Volley Conegliano overcame Savino Del Bene Scandicci easier than expected: 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-22). Paola Egonu scored 14 points for the winning side, while Raphaela Folie added 5 kill blocks. Thus, the reigning Italian and club world champions arrived at the final act of the Super Cup. But, Imoco will have to wait to see who their rivals in the gold medal encounter will be a bit longer than planned.

The other semifinal between Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio and Igor Gorgonzola Novara was stopped at the beginning of the third set because of too much humidity as a result of the worsened weather conditions. It will be resumed tomorrow morning at 11:00 CET, this time not at the Vicenza square but indoors - at the sports hall PalaGoldoni. Whoever of these two sides wins the battle will be handicapped in the final given they'll have to play it the same day, only having a few hours to rest.

CHN M: Chinese federation gives in to pressure, male foreigners will play Super League

Great news on the Men's Super League. The Women's you referred to in the news is actually not the same with the Super League though. It is a separate tournament roughly called National Championships where the provincial teams compete for the top honour. Women's Super League won't start until much later. If foreign players are allowed in Men's tournament, then it only.makes sense the same would apply to the women's. Let's keep our fingers and toes crossed! Reply
