According to the Polish and Italian media, Michal Kubiak and Wilfredo Leon are the new owners of Verva Warszawa, a team that currently is playing in the elite Polish league.

The team from Poland’s capital, coached by Andrea Anastasi, has got the new owners a few weeks ago.

Two volleyball stars have decided to help and invest in this team. They have already started negotiating with some sponsors to prepare for the next season.

Michal Kubiak is currently playing in Japan (Panasonic Panthers) while Wilfredo Leon is a member of the Italian powerhouse Perugia. There is no information about their comeback to the Polish league for the next season…

There is one question coming - Is this a conflict of interest? The FIVB and CEV should answer this question.

ITA M: Perugia focused on bringing Grbić

He signed a 2-years contract with Zaksa last year. He won Polish Cup with them, not sure what happened so Zaksa lost the championship. They kicked out Lube and Zenit from the Champions League and have a good chance of becoming European champion although Trentino didn't win anything this year so this is their last chance.
He started his coaching career with Perugia so everything is possible... Reply

USA M: Russell undergoes surgery in US, will miss Tokyo Olympics

Russell had one of the best sports surgeons in the world work on him so I expect he will be in great hands. While devastating for any athlete Russell is young enough to have both Paris and Los Angeles in his Olympic future at very high level.
Piacenza is building something very special there and Russell is a perfect type of player and professional to attract others to come there and build around.
Wishing him a full and speedy recovery. Reply
