An 18-year-old Cuban middle blocker Heidy Casanova has agreed to terms with the Czech champions Prostějov, a month ago, coming from a club in her home country La Habana. But, two weeks ago, she decided, along with one of her teammates from the Cuban NT, not to return home after the FIVB U23 World Championship in Slovenia, but to stay in this country and find a new club there.

It forced Prostějov management to seek for the replacement for Casanova and the choice has fallen on the Slovakian player Gabriela Tomašeková, who did not play professional volleyball for a whole year. But, Tomašeková is familiar with the Czech league due to the fact that the last club for which she competed, so far, was Volejbal Přerov.
