You are preparing for the new season. How’s it going?
„Preparation for the new season is not so easy, because of this coronavirus. We had a long break after last season so now is hard to move on and start training every day and the current situation is more difficult cause we have only 4 players with a negative result. For now, we are trying to work more in the gym and focus on specific individual work.“
In your team, there were some cases of coronavirus. How this virus will affect volleyball in Poland in the season 2020/2021?
„This season will be too tough, cause I’m sure that another team will have the same problem as we have now. We have to try to survive this period and also we have to take care of ourselves, to keep ourselves healthy and away from this virus.“
The Polish national team member Wilfredo Leon says it’s going to be a difficult situation if the fans come to the stands. What’s your opinion on this?
„I agree, but also I can’t imagine a situation that we will be playing without our supporters, in fact, we are here for them as well, but if we won’t have another option, we must accept this one. There is always a possibility to watch us on Tv, this is better than nothing.“
What do you expect from the next season?
„I am expecting that we will be able to play until the end. I Wish to my self to be in a good shape. I see that I still improving and growing up and becoming a better player with every practice and every game.“
Many volleyball experts say that you will be one of the main weapons of Trefl Gdansk. Do you feel pressure or it motivates you?
„Honestly I don’t care about this. Generally, I always choose a club where I have big opportunity to be in the starting line up and being major of the group, I think our team can have a couple of „weapons“, it can be me or another guy but the most important thing is winning and playing good volleyball, this will be our goal.“
Is there any moment in volleyball you would never forget?
„In the second year of my professional career in the league, I was playing as the opposite but I didn’t like and I wanted to change and to play as an outside hitter. The head coach who told me I will never play as a receiver didn’t give me a chance to play that position. Finally, my club changed him and we got another coach who believed that I can play on this position and I started playing as the outside hitter and he never changed me till the end of the season. At this time I understand which position I should play, and what I have to do to become a better player. It was the best decision that I made in my career,“ tells Bartlomiej an interesting story for WorldofVolley.
