The sports director of the team, Lyudmil Naydenov, is pleased with the invitation as this competition will be a very good test before the start of the season where Marek Union-Ivkoni DUPNITSA is set to compete for the second consecutive year in the CEV Volleyball Champions League. The team was just joined by their head coach Nayden Naydenov and by libero Martin Bozhilov who attended the 2013 CEV VELUX EuroVolley that came to a close this past Sunday at Parken stadium in Copenhagen and where Bulgaria settled for fourth place. The roster for the coming season includes two additions, namely middle-blocker Vencislav Trifonov and opposite Venelin Kadankov who is about to sign his contract in the next days.
Before traveling to Ankara, Marek Union-Ivkoni played a friendly game with another Bulgarian team, Pirin RAZLOG, cruising to a straight win (25-17, 25-22, and 25-15).
