Bata and Sara Jo
Of course, family and friends have welcomed the bronze medalist, among them Uroš Kovačević, young player of Serbia and brother of Nikola Kovačević, who could not go to Denmark because of injury; wives and children, parents, brothers and sisters, many other people from all Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The star of the day was Aleksandar Atanasijević aka Bata, the best scorer of ECH 2013, who was welcomed by his girlfriend, popular Serbian singer Sara Jo.
“I was surprised; I did not know that she would come. Throughout the Championship, I had a big support from my parents and Sara, and I`m grateful for that” said Atanasijević.
“I`m glad that we are all together, celebrating one more medal in our history. After two years we are here again, in front of all Serbia, standing with the bronze medal. For us, young players that is very important because we have a new team, without big Ivan Miljković who was a captain in Vienna, brothers Grbić, Vujević, etc.“
It wasn`t easy:
“I must say big bravo to our staff who has worked very hard with us. We have started with the preparation on May, and until now it past five months. It wasn`t easy, we had to work very hard as we play with teams such as Russia, Italy…but we have proved that youth and motivation can deal with all “
On Thursday you will go to the 1st World Championship U23 in Brazil?
“I hope that people from all Serbia, especially journalist will support us. We want another medal. From this team beside me, in Brazil will play Nikola Jovović, Marko Ivović and Srećko Lisinac” – said Atanasijević.
