John Speraw, USA Head Coach: “We knew Bulgaria would come back and play very hard. They started very well in the previous matches and we knew they would be pretty excited to play in front of so many Bulgarian fans here in Chicago. They served very, very well in the first set and put a lot of pressure on us, but we were able to play a little bit better on our side of the net and we are grateful that we come away with a win tonight”.
Camillo Placi, Bulgaria Head Coach: “Congratulations to Team USA. It was definitely a double-sided match. The first set was really good for us, especially in serving. In the other three, we didn’t manage to play at the same level and couldn’t make a comeback. We had above all great difficulties in attacking.”
