Dream Team

Dear WorldofVolley fans, our Poll for the 2016/2017 Dream Team has entered Round 2.

After Round 1 that lasted from May 15 to May 21, you decided which two players on each position do not deserve to be the part of an ideal line-up for the season behind us due to the lowest number of votes but, more importantly, which players will keep battling to be the part of the WoV Dream Team.

Recall that at the beginning of voting (Round 1) there were 31 players in the Poll (5 setters, 5 opposites, 5 liberos, 8 middle blockers and 8 outside-hitters), while now, 17 remained (3 setters, 3 opposites, 3 liberos, 4 blockers and 4 outside-hitters).

These are the players who remained in the Poll and who are out (ranked from the highest to the lowest number of votes):

Setters: Micah Christenson (Lube), Benjamin Toniutti (Zaksa), William Arjona (Sada Cruzeiro); OUT – Simone Giannelli (Trentino) and Luciano De Cecco (Perugia).

Opposites: Maksim Mikhailov (Zenit), Tsvetan Sokolov (Lube), Wallace de Souza (Funvic), OUT – Aleksandar Atanasijević (Perugia), Dawid Konarski (Zaksa).

Middle blockers: Robertlandy Simón (Sada Cruzeiro), Srećko Lisinac (Skra), Marko Podraščanin (Perugia), Dmitriy Muserskiy (Belgorod), OUT – Dragan Stanković (Lube), Artem Volvich (Zenit), Isac Santos (Sada Cruzeiro), Seyed Mousavi (Sarmayeh).

Outside-hitters: Wilfredo León (Zenit), Osmany Juantorena (Lube), Earvin Ngapeth (Modena), Yoandy Leal (Sada Cruzeiro), OUT – Sam Deroo (Zaksa), Ivan Zaytsev (Perugia), Bartosz Kurek (Skra), Robert Kromm (Berlin).

Liberos: Jenia Grebennikov (Lube), Paweł Zatorski (Zaksa), Aleksey Verbov (Zenit), OUT – Luke Perry (Berlin), Eric Shoji (Lokomotiv N.).

So, Round 2 has just started and will last until May 28 after which 2 players at each position will be eliminated from the competition due to the lowest number of votes. It means that the players who remain in our Poll after May 28 will officially be the part of the 2016/17 WoV Dream Team.

You will be able to vote for the 2016/17 WoV Dream Team at our WorldofVolley homepage and at our WorldofVolley Poll page.
