ARG M: Argentina as part of FIVB’s main officials – Juan Angel Pereyra

Prof. Juan Angel Pereyra is one of the Argentine Volleyball members that is part of the officials of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), something that confirms the development of the Argentine Volleyball Federation at the international level.

Born in Tucuman, Pereyra is the only South American member to be part of such FIVB Commission, after an outstanding career as international referee. The presence of Pereyra at the Final match of the Sydney Olympic Games 2000, is remembered as one of the historical moments for his career and Argentine Volleyball Refereeing.

Pereyra, also carried out duties as supervisor during the last years at the FIVB World League and has participated as lecturer at Referee International Courses carried out by the CDRV in Argentina, helping with Argentine teaching and training.

But he is not the only one, four Argentine volleyball members including him represent Argentina at FIVB’s main commissions. The former international referee, Guillermo Paredes is part of the FIVB Referee Commission; Gabriel Salvia has a place at the FIVB Development Centre Commission while FeVA President, Juan Antonio Gutierrez has a place at the Beach Volleyball Commission, being also named Secretary of the FIVB World League Council.
