“I want to congratulate the Women Beach Volleyball and the Argentine Seniors’ Men Teams for their performance at the London Olympic Games 2012. Both teams showed their engagement with the volleyball movement and that they professionals that stand at the level of our previous expectations” expressed Gutierrez.

Ana Gallay-Virginia Zonta finished their participation at the First Round after facing in beach volleyball one of the strongest USA teams of the World that now stands in semi-finals.

The SeniorsMen Team finished among the best eight teams of the world with a record of win-loss 3-2 in the preliminary round and facing the best team of the decade, Brazil in Quarter-final.

“To be among the best eight teams of the World is very important for us. The goal was fulfilled and as President I am very satisfied with their performance” added Gutierrez. “For the beach volleyball girls it was all a new experience and they showed that they stand to perform at that high level with very demanding matches in this Olympic Games and therefore it is our responsibility as volleyball officials to keep betting on going ahead” he emphasized.

“In both cases we have very young talented players with great future and now our goal is Rio de Janeiro 2016. It is not just a speech, it is our reality due to the age of our players and their working periods. We are very proud on what they did and now we will work towards their growth” he finished saying.
