A day before the beginning of the International Qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Brazil head coach José Roberto Guimarães “Zé Roberto“ selected 14 players that will take part in the competition.
Despite the fact that 3 big names returned to the “Seleção“ for tournaments in 2019 after a while, only one of them found herself in the list – the libero Suelen Pinto. Zé Roberto decided not to enlist Fabiana Claudino and Sheilla Castro for the matches in Pool D in which Brazil will play Cameroon, Azerbaijan and the Dominican Republic in front of own crowd in Uberlândia.
The 14-player list of Brazil:
Setters: Macris, Roberta
Opposite hitters: Tandara, Lorenne, Paula Borgo
Middle blockers: Bia, Mara, Carol, Mayany
Outside hitters: Natália, Gabi, Amanda
Liberos: Léia, Suelen
