Minas-vs-Fluminense
After downing Superliga rivals Vôlei Nestlé/Osasco in the first round, Minas lost to the Peruvian National Team in Round 2 by a 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18). But in a decisive game for the trophy, Minas defeated other Superliga rivals Fluminense F.C. by a 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-12, 25-21). Rosamaria Montibeller, the Brazilian NT member, topped the winning side with 21 points. Thaís da Silva ’Thaisinha’ stood out in Fluminense with 15 points.
Osasco claimed the silver medal by beating Peruvian NT in the last round 3-1 (24-26, 25-20, 25-21, 25-12) with 30 points from their star Tandara Caixeta. Ángela Leyva made 20 for Peru, who had to satisfy with the bronze medal.
