Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia got upset at home by the countrymen Trentino Itas in the first leg of the 2022 CEV Men’s Volleyball Champions League semi-finals.

Trentino prevailed over Perugia in the first match of the all-Italian CEV Champions League Volley 2022 | Men semi-final. In a thrilling encounter extended to 5 sets, that had an epic 4th set (30-28 for Perugia), Trentino have always forced rivals to chase them (1-0 and 2-1 in sets), taking revenge for the two clear defeats to the ’Block Devils’ in the group stage. The players coached by Angelo Lorenzetti thus put themselves in an advantageous position for the return match. On 7 April, in Trento, Perugia will need to win at least 3 sets to gain access to the Champions League final. If the match moves to the tie-break again, the Golden Set will determine the Super Finals participant.

Alessandro Michieletto stood out the most on the winnings side with 26 points. Serbian Marko Podraščanin set up 4 blocks.
